That cybercrime has a cost is nothing new, what is remarkable from my point of view is that it is rising every year and what it is even worse is that we are not able to calculate the cost of the personal, confidential or sensitive information that has been already exposed and available for cyber criminals to use it. If we look at the Black Markets the cost of our personal information could be, by average, something around 1-10$ but the cost to each and every one of us is much higher.
The cost of cybercrime has been rising rapidly. Estimates of the global costs are in the range of $500 billion per year, and they are expected to be in the trillions just a few years from now. There are other costs not reflected, such as industrial spying or access to confidential records.
