Edinburgh University experienced a “crippling” cyber attack on the university’s domain on Tuesday. According to the Edinburgh News, “UK universities are considered to be at high risk of [cyber] attacks.”
After the university detected the data breach, its “defenses reacted quickly and no data has been compromised.” The university stated that it will be working with the National Cyber Crime Bureau in order to prevent cyber criminals from breaching its’ network in the future.
In this current climate of data breaches, companies need to detect, respond, and recover from a cyberattack while it’s in progress. But that’s an insurmountable task to tackle alone. Identify and engage cybersecurity partners to alert you real-time to vulnerabilities so you can limit their impact.
